What Does Love Really Mean? (Poetry)
What No One Tells You About Love

For days I pondered, searching for truth,
A question unanswered, since my youth.
Some said love’s in making the other smile,
In keeping them safe, in staying awhile.
Others spoke of sacrifice, pure and true,
But none of the answers felt real to me, not a single view.
Then one day, someone shared with clarity,
Love is acceptance, a beautiful rarity.
It’s falling for flaws, for all that’s not right,
Loving their darkness, embracing their light.
Not seeking change, but seeing them whole,
Loving them deeply, heart and soul.
When harsh words are spoken, or help is not given,
Can I still love them when anger’s been driven?
When our choices clash, when we don’t align,
Will I stay, or let go in time?
Love means forgiving, healing, and growing,
Even when hurt and emotions are slowing.
It’s about accepting all that they are,
Loving their imperfections, no matter how far.
